Community Interacters

 

Ahmed

Ahmed leads the Tunstall Tigers Football project and is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work. He is a second year BA (Hons) Sports Development and Coaching student at Staffordshire University and scouts for West Bromwich Albion Football Club. Ahmed is also an FA Level 2 qualified coach and has completed the FA Youth Award Modules 1 and 2. In 2012 he won The Pride of Sandwell Award, which was presented by The Mayor for his work within the community, using football as a tool to overcome conflicts, prejudices and erase barriers amongst young people; uniting them with a shared interest.

 

Ahsan
Ahsan has a degree in Business Administration and an MSc in Hospitality Management from Manchester Metropolitan University. He works as an Engage Community Interacter with a focus on outreach work, mentoring and human resources.

 

 

 

 

Ali
Ali has run several successful businesses and worked in Business Development.  He has a joint honours degree in Business Information Systems and Management, from the University of Central Lancashire.  Ali is involved in youth work, outreach, coaching and mentoring. He uses his entrepreneurial skills to engage and mentor disaffected young people helping raise their aspirations.  He is very passionate about improving the area where he grew up and continues to live, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent.

 

 

 

Atal
Atal works on the Round House Boxing project and is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work.  He is a keen dedicated and talented boxer with 21 amateur fights already at the age of 18.  Atal has also represented his county Staffordshire in boxing competitions. He is studying Hardware IT at Stoke-on-Trent College and has ambitions to study at University.

 

 

 

Aqib
Aqib is currently completing his A levels at City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College and is planning on going to the University of Leeds to study Law. He went to Brownhills Maths and Computing College and has a keen interest in mentoring and raising the aspirations of under-privileged kids and community cohesion.

 

 

 

 

Danny
Danny Aslam is our youngest Community Interacter & coach at only 17 years of age. He helps to coach the Tunstall Tigers and all football related projects at Engage. Danny has grown in confidence and size as a coach since he’s been with Engage. Recently he gained an FA coaching qualification. He’s also a former Port Vale Academy star but gave up his football career to focus on working for Engage & professional weightlifting.

 

 

 

 

Jamal
Jamal leads the Round House Boxing project and is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work.  He is currently the Midlands ABA light-heavyweight champion and winner of the light-heavyweight title at the prestigious international Viking Cup tournament in Denmark. Jamal is doing a BA (Hons) Sports Development and Coaching at Staffordshire University.  He is also a talented rapper and musician.

 

 

 

 

Lee
Lee lives in Birmingham and is currently studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing Management at Staffordshire University, after spending a year working for Jaguar cars. He has a passion for music and sports as well as helping those who are underprivileged and disadvantaged in communities. Lee brings specialist skills and knowledge in marketing to Engage Communities.

 

 

 

Moe
Moe leads the Dimensions Dons Football project and also assists with the Tunstall Tigers, he is directly involved in coaching, mentoring and outreach work. Moe is in his Foundation year of a BA (Hons) Sports Development and Coaching degree at Staffordshire University. He is also an FA Level 2 qualified coach and has completed the FA Youth Award Modules 1 and 2.  Moe has First Aid and Safeguarding Children and Young People qualifications.

 

 

 

Sohail
Sohail lives in Birmingham and is studying for a BSc (Hons) Computer Science at Keele University. He works as a Community Interacter on the Round House outreach project and Engage sports development projects. Sohail competes at a high level in the Olympic martial art of Taekwondo and is currently British champion. Previously, he was an English national champion in Karate before making the switchover to the Olympic style of Taekwondo.

 

 

 

 

Tayeba
Tayeba is passionate about working with children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. She has a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology as well as extensive training, skills and experience in working with vulnerable children and young people with challenging behaviour. Tayeba volunteers as a Community Interactor and brings significant skills and experience to the team.

 

 

 

Zahra
Zahra is studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art and helps to facilitate art based workshops with disadvantaged children and young people. She also has experience of working with victims of crime. Zahra works as a Community Interacter on all Engage projects and services and provides mentoring to young people.
