Engage Six-A-Side Football Tournament. Thursday, 28 May 2015
Engage Communities organised the third of its popular free Engage football tournaments of 2015. The tournament was held on Thursday 28th May 2015 at Dimensions Leisure Centre. It was supported by Port Vale FC and funded through the PCC People Power Fund. It was a great tournament with teams of youngsters participating from across Stoke-on-Trent. In total we had 26 teams entering which resulted in nearly 250 young people participating in the tournament. We would also like to thank all the young volunteers and StreetGames for supporting Engage on the day. Congratulations to Shelton Young'unz for winning the U19 category. The team holds the record for the most Engage tournament wins and also consecutive wins. The team did not lose for nearly 3 years before making the transition to the older age category. The final was against Sims FC, a talented team of players from Norton. Sims FC narrowly missed out in the final after a tense penalty shootout. Well done to G Unit for winning their first Engage tournament in the under 16 category. The winners were all given trophies provided by Port Vale FC. The photos were taken, edited and uploaded by our young volunteer, Ayman Matloob, age 15.
