Boom Boom Six-A-Side Cricket Tournament. Wednesday, 19 Aug 2015

Engage Communities organised its first Boom Boom 6-a-side cricket tournament as part of the Staffordshire Space Programme. The tournament was held on Wednesday 19th August 2015 at Bengry Park, Normacot. The tournament was played with a cricket wind ball using indoor cricket rules. It was fantastic to see 6 teams of youngsters participating from across Stoke-on-Trent. We would also like to thank all the young volunteers, Stoke City’s Kicks and StreetGames for supporting Engage on the day. Congratulations to Normacot Youth for winning the first Boom Boom cricket tournament and C.O.B for making it into the final. The winners were all given trophies and prizes. Well done to Ahsam Zaroom, age 11 captain of team C.O.B for winning the player of the tournament award. Ahsam also plays for Staffordshire U11s and Porthill Park and therefore it was great to see this talented youngster leading a team in a local street based wind ball tournament. The photos were taken, edited and uploaded by our young volunteer, Ayman Matloob, age 15.
